GlareDB is looking for a software engineer to help build out the core database product. As an early member of the team, you will play a key role in designing and implementing significant portions of a geo-distributed database. As the team grows, you will help mentor newer members of the team on the architecture and internals of the database.

Requirements

• Deep interest and knowledge in database internals (query planning and optimization, distributed transaction handling, physical storage, etc.) or distributed systems (data replication, consensus protocols).
• Experience writing high performance code in C, C++, and/or Rust (preferred).
• Exceptional at writing design and architecture docs for complex systems.
• A willingness to learn Rust.

Bonus

• Previous experience developing research or commercial databases.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science with a specialization in databases and/or distributed systems.
• Published research papers focused on databases and/or distributed systems.
• Publicly available high performance code (C, C++, Rust).

Compensation

• Salary: $100k - $200k
• Equity: 0.5% - 1.0%
